I prepare students to be dynamic and innovative information professionals by ensuring students have the fundamental frameworks and concepts on which to build new knowledge and skills in their careers, by tapping into my students’ existing motivation to learn, and by continuously experimenting and improving my teaching.
I teach online and blended courses. I integrate short videos, screencasts, readings, small and large group activities, individual reflection, online games, and guest lectures to maintain a varied and engaging learning experience.
"Very effective! Dr. V creates a learning environment that, for me, encourages a desire to learn more and to reach higher. She is accessible and welcoming, and doesn't shy away from heady intellectual theory. I appreciate having the opportunity to learn from (and learn with!) this professor." - student, Spring 2017
